Laura & Nate - Wedding Film

Who would've thought a wedding and reception in an old barn would be so majestic!

We met Laura & Nate a few years back working with the Salt Company in Ames, and it was splendid to meet up with them again for such a grand occasion! For a cloudy October day, this was one beautiful afternoon to remember.

This was our first visit to Backcountry Winery in Stretford, Iowa and honestly can't believe we haven't heard of this place before. If you are looking for a small, rustic, and quality venue for your whole day - look no further (no, not an ad)!

It was a shorter day for us, but as you can see, what a beautiful day it was!

What a joy to see Laura & Nate's love for each other and their savior on full display. Throughout the ceremony, you could feel the anticipation and excitement building and  building, finally culminating in the couple's first kiss. What a cheer there was! And from that moment on, the even t was sheer elation of friends and family reunited  under the banner of marriage. It was truly a pleasure to be a part!

Plus, cream soda and Dunkin Donut holes for dessert? Count us in every time!

Congratulations, Carrs! And God bless.

Lauren & Jesse - Wedding Film

It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of the wedding of Lauren & Jesse Etherington!

We never cease to be amazed at the creativity and thought our couples put into their weddings, and this was exemplary of that planning. And it's always a bonus to shoot the getting ready, ceremony, and reception at one venue!

We couldn't have asked for better weather for an outdoor event!

And the reception was a perfect blend of big tent grandeur and outdoor fresh air. But those were only afterthoughts compared to the love and joy on display! Lauren and Jesse are best kind of couple: so confident in their relationships with Jesus, and so passionately in love with each other. This was never more apparent, than in their beautiful ceremony that told a beautiful tale of relationship.

No aspect of the day was without an ample dose of celebration.

And the reception was the prime opportunity to let everyone loose! You would be hard-pressed to find better dancing and finer toasts than these. People really love to party when two people they care about are joining together!

A gorgeous day in September at Barne's Place? Yes, please.

We love the opportunity to celebrate at beautiful venues with beautiful scenery and beautiful weather and beautiful people, and Natalee & Bruce's wedding did not disappoint! An added perk was getting to shoot alongside our pal Austin Day.

We only spent a few hours with Natalee & Bruce, and they were a full few at that, but it was quickly evident that they were so happy together, and that their wedding was truly a joyful and loving coming together. And what a celebration it was!

To say we were spoiled with beautiful people and locations is an understatement!

The home, the church, the capitol steps, and Sticks Warehouse? Fabulous! And not only the locations top notch, the weather cooperated significantly, and we were never in want of lovely shots.

As you will hear in the video, Abbie & David have an incredibly strong relationship, and their patience and steadfastness shone bright on their wedding day. A day full of love, and of a vast support group celebrating for and with them.

It was obvious that these two meant much to all in attendance.

We are thankful to have been a part of the wedding, and so proud to create with you - congrats Abbie & David!

Rachel & Judah - Wedding Film

Our furthest "destination" wedding yet, and it proved to be a wonderful journey.

While the wedding itself took place in the Nashville, Tennessee area, we met Rachel back in Ames, Iowa during our college days. While that was some time ago, we love getting to see old friends and making new ones along the way. Judah is a new acquaintance, but one that brightens any room he walks into.

It may have been a smidge hotter than we are used to in Iowa, but this wedding could hardly have been been more beautiful.

Not only were the venues and nature and daylight top notch, but this event was a family celebration of the highest order. And by family, I don't mean an intimate gathering of those closest in biology. By family, I mean every guest in attendance was there with a deep relationship with the couple, and an overwhelming sense of joy at their union.

One example of this togetherness would have to be the dance, which started with most of the guests jumping into the mix, and ended nearly 90 minutes later. I am baffled as to how the floor survived the non-stop movement!

You'd be hard-pressed to find two people more in love and with more people in support. We had an absolute blast witnessing and capturing the occasion, and are thankful for the opportunity!

Congratulations, Rachel and Judah!

Emily & Brandon - Wedding Film

Our first wedding of the year, and we could not have asked for a better July scenario!

The weather was incredibly mild, and the sun was out and gorgeous. Emily & Brandon had a lovely first look near Spirit Lake, and some photos later in the day with the wedding party on a golf course that proved to be absolutely beautiful. Also, we got to have a golf-cart caravan. Twelve golf carts cruising along. Amazing.

We also had a blast shooting with Josh and Jennifer Photography again! Not only do they do great work, they are great people, and easy to get long with.

All-in-all it was a beautiful day, and a great way for us to celebrate with Emily and Brandon! Couldn't have asked for a better way to dive into the fall wedding season.

Introducing: Attic Co.!

Six years ago, in June of 2011, we launched Dust Studios.

The idea was born out of our passions for quality imagery, and a desire to start paying off student loans while still in school. Fast forward to the present, and we have had the opportunity to be a part of almost 100, fantastic weddings!

We have loved the opportunity to celebrate with our friends, make new relationships, and contribute in any way to some great weddings. It has been an incredible ride, and will likely continue for many years to come. In that seemingly short time, Dust Studios has become synonymous with weddings and portraiture.

As we have grown over the past six years both personally and professionally, it became clear that adding more corporate and long-term work relationships in the mix was the perfect next step. To continue with our Dust Studios brand, we decided to launch another, separate project focused on those projects outside of weddings and portraits.

Enter, Attic Co.

We have a lot of new content coming along, and we hope you check out all that is brewing over at our new website as well!

Dust Studios Wedding Reel

We at Dust Studios have been to a lot of weddings over the past few years.

And to be honest, they never really get old! The raw joy and celebration cannot be shrugged off. It is impossible to spend time with a couple on their wedding day and not get caught up in the excitement and anticipation of a life ahead.

So here is a tribute to those brides and grooms, and their families and friends that give us the honor of being a small part. We are grateful!

Katie & Brandon - Wedding Film

Having grown up in New London, Iowa, a small town in the Southeast corner of the state, we always get excited for the opportunity to head "back home" for a wedding.

We hadn't met Katie and Brandon before working together for their wedding, but upon our first meeting, we knew they were going to be an awesome couple to work with. I had actually seen Brandon play soccer with our older brother in high school, and still remember some excellent goals he had scored. That was a long time ago, but suffice it to say these two came through thick and thin to be together.

One of the most unique features of the day, and actually one of the most unique wedding venues we've ever seen, is a family heirloom!

Legend has it, this old, one-room country church was passed down generation-to-generation, and over the years had fallen into disrepair. Then, it finally closed for business as people preferred the larger, more regional churches. However, the property stayed in the family, and was recently renovated back to its proper state, retaining all of the old style and charm.

Meet the Pickle Church, a quaint cozy, and romantic little country church.

While the church was certainly a highlight of the day, it could not overshadow the love Katie and Brandon had for each other. They had such a natural poise and joy when together that is rare to see, and certainly a pleasure to be around. Not only was the couple full of joy, but everyone we encountered throughout the day was ready to celebrate with great anticipation.

This was a wedding that exemplified the coming together of family and friends to celebration a new family.

Congratulations, Katie & Brandon! God bless!
